Where the F is the ability to Render Image Sequence

AceHarding wrote on 11/21/2022, 8:41 AM

installed on Windows 11 and now its gone. I know they want you to install HEIF from Microsoft did that, then they want you to install HEVC for 1 dollar, DLed VLC media player instead because I'm not giving **** Gates a penny for codecs that already existed. It still doesn't show up as a rendering option. How did you regain the ability to render image sequences? (u kno like u already paid for back in the day). what a scam.

Is this a Vegas question?

AceHarding wrote on 11/21/2022, 8:58 AM

yes. still trying to get image sequence rendering resolved

AceHarding wrote on 11/21/2022, 9:04 AM

Its Vegas 17 and it works on my windows 10 computer now it wont show up on Windows 11 even with the proper Codecs supposedly installed. I have HVEC and HEIF, still unable to render images please advise.

No problem here. Just did a test render.

I also downloaded a HEIF file just to test that the extension was working and since I can view the photo I suppose it is. now what? still trying to do image sequence rendering in Vegas 17

AceHarding wrote on 11/21/2022, 9:21 AM

@wwag this is a common problem for many people I searched engined this everywhere and haven't found a solution beyond manually installing the codecs.

My bad. The screengrab is from V20. When I loaded V17, I get the same issue--no Image Sequence option.

@wwaag no worries. It works when I had Vegas 17 on my windows 8 and windows 10, update to 11 and now I can't get Vegas to Accept the HEIF it seems.

I saw message over at CreativeCow that doesn't give me much hope. Can't figure out how to contact customer support directly. https://creativecow.net/forums/thread/vegas-pro-19-image-sequence-render-option-missing-redux/

@vkmast already did that no option for email

AceHarding wrote on 11/21/2022, 9:55 AM

Eventually found the email link. It's way buried they dont want you to use it.

AceHarding wrote on 11/21/2022, 9:59 AM

I got a blank confirmation email after submitting a ticket. Great.

AceHarding wrote on 11/21/2022, 3:37 PM

Here's the response:

Thank you for your message. VEGAS Pro 17 was never tested to operate on Windows 11, so if at all possible we would suggest rolling the system back to Windows 10 to see if that helps.

>>> Yeah well I wish I could roll back too but this isn't possible.

I rendered some HEVC videos just to test if the codecs are there.... they work. So it may just be a matter of initializing Vegas so that it recognizes them and allows me to render image sequence. Is there a preference or settings somewhere? Anyone?

AceHarding wrote on 11/21/2022, 4:23 PM

I'm getting ultra creative here, I really need this running again. I pulled an HEVC video into my project to see if it plays, and it does so were good there. Now I tried pulling in an HEIF image file and it doesn't work. I can view HEIF thru creepy Gate's Photo viewer, so the extension is installed to some degree, its just a matter of getting Vegas to recognize it. I tried enabling a bunch of setting in the Preferences including reinitializing the graphics card... nothing yet. there's gotta be a way.

The last piece of this puzzle I believe is getting HEIF to work in Vegas. I read other users are able to drag and drop HEIF pictures into their project under other configs. I can view them in Photos but can't drop them in. I need to get Vegas to talk to the HEIF codec so I can export image sequences again. Any help would be appreciated I love you so much. Thank you.
