which software to buy

Just purchased the Movie Studio Suite. Possibly should have looked at the customer reviews first. Looks like the Platinum may have been a better choice. Want to make music videos and the comments say the Movie Studio Suite is missing ACID and Sound Forge which were included on the Platinum, which are better for music videos. Is this true? If it is what is the best fix? Should I buy the platinum also? Thanks. steven

No. You'll find SFAS currently here http://www.magix.com/int/sound-forge-audio-studio/

See the relevant product pages and http://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/int/vegas-movie-studio/product-comparison/ for what is actually included.

As the chart VK links to indicates, you actually get the entire Platinum package and MORE when you buy the Studio Suite -- so you still made a good investment.

On Amazon VMS14P is 53$ for download, I'm tempted but I will wait for VMS15 as few things still I don't like.

Well, I guess it depends on your workflow for a project. I make exclusively music videos with MS, but certainly don't make music with it - in the sense that the song is recorded mixed and mastered completely separately from the video part. When I do it for other musicians, I generally receive the mastered music file (exactly like when I mix for other musicians, I produce a final mix to be send further in the chain).

However, if you don't have other software do mix music with, it'd make sense to get the bundle including SoundForge, which has a long reputation in the biz.

To clarify, Sound Forge Audio Studio 10 and Acid Music Studio 10 were bundled with Sony (and apparently with MAGIX rebranded VEGAS) Movie Studio 13 Suite, but are now not with either 14 Platinum or 14 Suite despite what "the comments say".

Sound Forge AS 12 is listed on the Magix Audio product pages as noted above. Acid MS 10 or VMS (or SMS) 13 Suite may still be found and purchased through online sellers. Surprisingly, I've recently seen pop-ups in my browser advertising ia VMS 13 Suite as well. Clicking the product pic there would add the product to the Magix shopping cart. I don't see much sense in acquiring an older Suite though, if the OP has the v. 14 one, but that's a personal decision of course. I do have SMS 13 S and VMS 14 P myself, but the former was released and purchased three years earlier.

Acid Pro and Acid Music Studio 10 are also listed on the Magix music page.

Yes, forgot to add that, thanks EricLNZ. Acid MS 10 currently on discount there.
