Who was the Father of Vegas Pro?

Just for curiosity about the Vegas history, who was the Father of Vegas Pro? The guy (or guys) that had the idea of creating the Software? 

I googled, but the results only showed that Sonic Foundry Company created it on 11 June 1999.

A lot of people had their hands in VEGAS in the beginning...but Curt Palmer, who passed away in 2010, was probably the one who I would consider the father of VEGAS.
