Why am I not receiving emails from Vegas Creative Software ?

I have another update. A Magix team member contacted me and did some further investigation into the email list. They confirmed that the No.1 reason why many of us have not been receiving emails from Magix about VEGAS, is because the database they received from Sony is not working properly. One problem they identified, was the flag for sending email to some of us was turned off. It must be turned ON for email to be sent to each address. The Sony database has well over 20 million entries, so it's massive and half useless in it's current state.

I have been told that fixing the database is not simple to do, because of some technical reason. So they are working on multiple solutions to fix the problem. One of the possible solutions they hinted at, was to give all Magix account holders the ability to edit our own email preferences and manually select which products we want communication for.

I am confident that Magix is definitely taking this problem seriously. Now it's just a waiting game to see what manifests.

Thanks Dr. I wish I could share your confidence. I registered here

It seems that does not apply to Vegas. Maybe their handling of their own databases leaves something to be desired as well. I'll be waiting patiently though as advised several times.

@vkmast Yes this subscription link is useless a the moment and only sends news about Magix products, nothing VEGAS related, even though it is on the Vegas website. I signed up myself using the same link and only receive Magix emails from it.

I am 99.99% sure they are aware of this anomaly and are working to fix it. It sounds like Sony may have sold to Magix a "lemon" database that only Harry Potter would know how to work.

Just received my very first  VEGAS related email from MAGIX (VEGAS <news(at)vegas.magix.net>).

It was the current extended "Vegas Pro 14 Upgrade" offer. The prices are as earlier recipients have commented on the Forum.

...But I still haven't received any email about the Black Friday offer, which finishes today.

Hi Nick
I am still waiting for my first email ever from Magix.
I spoke to my contact at Magix last week, about the continuing lack of Vegas related emails.
They are still working on repairing the email database that Sony gave them - apparently it is in a bigger mess than what was first thought. Transfer of serial numbers and accounts took priority over fixing email database.

There is still one thing I find puzzling and down right annoying. On the Vegas Creative Software Facebook page, there is a post titled NEWSLETTER. It says: "Want to stay in the loop? Simply sign up for our newsletter. This way, you'll always be up to date and receive the latest information on our exclusive deals."

Unfortunately this is not true! I have been signed up to this for over 3 months and have never received a single email about Vegas. It only sends emails about Magix products. If the email problem is not fixed soon, I feel like abandoning Vegas altogether - I mean that quite sincerely and do not say it lightly. Never receiving a single email since Magix took over, is a big negative for me.
