I don't understand why the video in the Preview Window is less clear than video in the the Trimmer. Aren't both windows playing the AVI file, assuming no transitions or effects?

In other words, isn't all video AVI video until effects or transitions are added?

I ask because the video quality in my Preview Window does not improve regardless of which Quality I select?
