Windows 8.1 Software and Movie Studio Platinum 12

I am hoping that someone could please help me. My PC has undertaken the usual software updates and has now stopped my Movie Studio Platinum 12 from working properly. All transitions within the programme (both standard supplied and the NewBlue FX 3D additional) are not working. I have uninstalled all software and re-installed onto my computer but this has not fixed the problem. I am hoping that there is a software update or an updated windows driver that can be installed to correct this issue. I would be so grateful if someone could please help. Many thanks in advance.

I have Win 8.1 and Movie Studio 12 with NB FX. It should work. Have you tried a full uninstall of Movie Studio and then a clean install?

The OP could also try resetting software to default settings just to see if it would help.

Thanks, haven't tried using this link before. It looks daunting? is it simple to do or do you need someone quite PC competent to walk through the process with you? Very nervous as I am so worried about losing Movie Studio projects that I have created.

My wife's laptop is Windows 8.1 64-bit and it successfully runs Platinum 12 32-bit with NewBlue effects.

Just back up the project files as a precaution (but the actual program uninstall shouldn't be affected).

Okay so I have followed the uninstall and re-install link and this has not worked. My transitions that I previously had will still not render. Desperately seeking further help and assistance.

Resetting software did not work either?

Not sure how this will help as I will be resetting software to the same point I have just re-installed to? or have I misunderstood the resetting of software workaround?

"If a program isn’t working right, just reinstalling it won’t necessarily fix it. You may need to reset the program to its default settings," as in here. Why not try it anyway? Read the link above.
