Won't recognize my LG Blu-Ray Burner

I recently purchased an LG Blu-Ray burner for my system. I am currently running Movie Studio 10 (Build 179). All of my video is ready to be burned but it is taking forever to 'scan for devices' and then the program freezes.

Try checking/unchecking in VMStudio Options / Preferences / CD settings 'Skip drive database; autodetect drive capabilities', also same in DVDAStudio Options / Preferences / General and see if it makes any difference.

Does windows see it? What about the Free Cyber link software that came with it (My LG had version 9)?

Windows 7 does recognize it. Unfortunately it was an OEM purchase, no additional software. I have however found a way to to circumvent the issue. The LG Drive is an Internal that I converted to an External. When I am ready to make the Blu-Ray, I simply turn it off and then Movie Studio goes straight to the options I need to create an ISO. Then I can burn the ISO to a BD
