I didn't get the serial number. Though all it needed are the installation, appliance of some information, and, voila! It worked.

Well, Vegas Pro 8.0 (when people got the installation DVD) came with some sample projects.

Also, the serial number that I got is actually the one that's in the Internet Archive post about the Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 installation DVD.

The user name displayed in the splash screen is usually an email address.

If it's not an email address, it's a illicit cracked/pirated copy.

The serial number that the OP is using is available on the internet and is clearly from a cracked/pirated source:

Note the comment on that section about the serial number that says:

How did I find this? I just Google/Bing searched the internet using the SN.

True only with MAGIX versions. The several legal Sony/SCS versions that I have display my real name.

Note @Dexcon's investigation though.

So you just downloaded and installed the illegal pirated repacked Vegas Pro 8.0, because "1FW-KGP5-BW7P-MEE9" is used to crack Vegas by illegal key generator.

In conclusion, if any of the people used VEGAS Pro got inferior copies of them, then don't install them. It might cause more harm. Case solved.

No support here for cracked or pirated versions. The corresponding user accounts are not supported either.
