@relaxvideo I understand but vegasderek just said it doesn't work in VP19 on any OS (as I understand his statement).

Um...no. VP 19 will not run this stuff on Windows 7. Later versions of Windows 10 and Windows 11 will work fine.

So no workaround at all? Can you say more about the cause of the problem? V19 cannot acces win7 ac3 dll-s anymore, or?

I think you're betting on a dead horse - Win7 hasn't been serviced by Microsoft for a long time - and asking Vegas developers to reverse engineer something instead of forward is certainly not in the spirit of the customer majority.

Yes, and i accept, just curious, if the problem is Win7, why ac3 works with older Vegas. And no trick/hack to make it work under V19?

The problem is not with w7 but with VP but it will not be corrected as there isn't an issue in W10.

As I wrote before, VMS16 when launch ~apr2019 played ac3 on w7, just few months later an update came and .... bang no AC3 on W7 . So I reinstalled my VMS16 and did not update it to the latest build.

VP17 was out few weeks later (aug2019 ?) so ever since I guess that component was ever dropped.

Our licensing deal with the company we were licensing our AC3 codec was terminated and we were unable to come up with a reasonable replacement agreement at the time of the termination. As a result, we were forced to use the built-in Windows AC3 codec which is available only in new versions of Window 10 and 11. We are not the only NLE who has had to go through this process. (We have made statements on this issue in the past if anyone was willing to do a search on it.)

Thanks for the explanation.
So Win7 doesn't have built-in ac3 codec? If so,we even cannot install a 3rd party codec which Vegas can use?
