when I use Chroma key fx, the preview screen used to reflect how the video will look after it renders. Now the green screen (or any color I attempt to use) remains until after the video is rendered. This makes fine tuning nearly impossible. Any suggestions?
...so it appears that the issue has something to do with an area I selected with the cross hairs that appear on the preview screen when the cursor moves over it. I apparently at some point must have selected the entire screen, because when I just selected to draw a small box in one corner of the screen, that small area shows the image prior to the effect added while the rest of the screen reveals a preview of how the image will appear when it renders. I still seek more information about the uses of these cross hairs but for the most part my issue is resolved.
I was using the cookie cutter effect to create a mask in order to compensate for my inability to fine tune my greenscreen effect when I noticed crosshairs as the cursor moved across. The screen. I have hundreds of hours, possibly thousands of hour using Vegas. But how this happened originally and why it carried over through various projects I've worked on remains a mystery to me.
