Unfortunately it's confusing John as it doesn't tell you. Go to your C;\Program Files (x86)\Vegas\DVD Architect and look for the exe file.If it's "dvdarch70.exe" then you have DVDA7.
Build 67 is an earlier build of VEGAS DVD Architect (sometimes referred to as version 7) from MAGIX. The SCS/Sony versions were named DVD Architect Pro (6.0 last) and DVD Architect Studio (5.0 last), All those versions are separate installations. DVD A (7) build 100 overwrites the earlier build installed (54, 67, or 84).
Note also that online Help files may not be quite correct. (E.g. Introduction states "What's new in version 6.0".)
I have DVD A version 6 , is this update free for older versions or do I have to buy a new licence ?
It appears from mervynj's post near the top of this thread that it will update 6 to 7 which surprises me. Try it and you will find out. It's only a relatively small download and presumably will tell you if it cannot update your version.
Yes Eric I am abit surprised too, you can't buy an upgrade to 7 only a full version of 7. I already have Vegas Pro 16 edit, that's without DVD-A so I use DVD-A 6 what I get with Vegas Pro 13 in the past.
There may be an inaccuracy in mervynj's first comment. In his later comment he said he has now both DVD A Pro 6 and Vegas DVD A (7). Installing Vegas DVD A (7) or its updates has never updated my DVD A Pro 6.0, DVD A Pro 5.2, or DVD A Studio 5.0. When I updated to Vegas DVD A (7) build 100, it did overwrite my previous build #84 of Vegas DVD A (7). As expected. Every version of DVD A has a different serial number in My Products on my Magix Account. Please tell us as well if it does update your DVD A P 6 to Vegas DVD A (7).
Note that you'll get the same Vegas DVD A (7), listed at $99.99 (new purchase), with VMS 16 Platinum, listed at $79.99 (new purchase). Not sure that you'd need it if you have DVD A Pro 6 (and Vegas Pro 13 and 14).
I think the confusion of @mervynj was because in the new version he did not see a version number. Cause: Since version 7 there is only one version of the program in stead of also the "DVD Architect Studio" version of it besides the so called "DVD Architect Pro in the Sony period.
j-v is of course right and the text regarding the use of the words "version" and "update" in the Installation wizard start screen is certainly confusing.
"An earlier version" does not refer to an earlier build of a version. If you have an earlier build of the current version installed it does "update" within the same version number. If you have an earlier version the wizard does not "update" or upgrade either. It installs the new version (which is an "upgrade",not an "update") but leaves any old version intact. The updates are usually free whereas the upgrades are not.

I think I know what happened. I have ver 6 from the Sony Vegas 13 original installation.
Then I would have had ver 7 when i upgraded to Magix Vegas Pro v 14, which is in a different folder. If I ever used it after v14, I probably just used the shortcut to the DVDA 6 from the Sony Vegas install.
So the upgrade simply upgraded Version 7 that I never knew I had. :-)
