Copied Vegas Pro 15 from my old PC to my new one, but it won't open!

IainS wrote on 3/9/2023, 5:59 PM

I copied Vegas Pro 15 onto a USB stick and then onto my new PC.

However, when I try to open it on my new computer, I get a message saying:

"The code execution cannot be processed because sfdvd.dll was not found."

I also get similar messages, like:

"The code execution cannot be processed because vcomp110.dll was not found."

I'm not a technical person so I'd be very grateful for a simple, step-by-step explanation of how to fix this problem.

Many thanks!

Iain

Reinstall Vegas Pro from the original installation file. Log in to your Magix account and download the file(s) if you've misplaced them.

John - many thanks for your advice!
I logged in to my Magix account but it's asking me for the serial number.
Where can I find or get hold of this?
Thanks.

Iain

@IainS In your Magix account under My Products you should find your VP15 and its serial number. I don't understand how your Magix account could be asking for this?

IainS just for information it is rarely possible to transfer an installed program to a new computer by just copying it or it's location file from the old PC as during installation files are copied to multiple locations including the PC registry. As said above the only sure way is to run the original installation file/package.

@IainS Can you open vegas on your old machine? If so 'about' should show the serial number you require. This works on VP17 through to VP19, cannot test VP15 this end.

Magix 'my products' should list all magix products licensed to you together with serial numbers and link to latest version of that product
