Crashing constantly

Movie Studion Version 17 (Build 143)

Windows 10 Version 1909 (Build 18363.778), GTX 1080 with nVidia driver Version 445.87, 16Gb Memory, i7 Processor

Make Movie -> Save it to my hard drive -> AVCHD

Resoultion is 1920 x 1080

Video recorded on Nikon Z50 in .mov format

Most of the time it will encode to circa 3%-5% then stop endoding. Time remaining keeps counting up but never continues encoding. Attempting to cancel the encoding results in MS17 crashing and I send in the crash report with extra data. Once it crashed and froze just editing the content of the video.

As I have just upgraded to get the faster rendering times offered by GPU acceleratin, this is not meeting my needs, especially as MS16 was much more reliable. Howevr as I have now saved a number of my video projects using MS17 I can't go back.

and what is the goal for your rendering? You are now rendering to a pretty big interlaced file.

This is nothing to do with file size as I had already created many videos using MS16 with this camera and video sizes with zero crashes. This particular video I was re-rendering from MS16 after I spotted a mistake and MS16 never had an issue.

I have been a user since 2016 (Vegas Suite 13) and have upgraded after each new release. This is the first time getting issues of any type.

Sorry that I asked you for the MediaInfo of your sourcefiles, I should have asked for the most used sourcefile.
It seems you used most 25 fps FHD AVC sourcefiles (the mov's)
They are HD AVC progressive files with 25fps and because there are better codecs in this program version to render to, I asked you what your goal is with those files.
Those other rendertemplates are very good and have pretty fast rendering if you use for your GPU (Nvidia 1080) the latest Studio driver 442.92 as adviced by the Vegas developpers.

Than this choice of you to make the video is a bad one: "Make Movie -> Save it to my hard drive -> AVCHD"

Better is upload to UT or make a good mp4 file on your harddisc from where you are able to upload to whathever site.
