Do New Blue Legacy Plugins (years 2010 - 2015) Work With Vegas Pro

SupaC wrote on 11/23/2022, 12:29 PM

Hello . . . I'm still using Vegas Pro 10 (go ahead and laugh - but it still works). I'm also using 17 New Blue plugin packages of the same age (years 2010 - 2015). I'm considering an upgrade to Vegas 20. I do not want to spend another thousand plus bucks upgrading all of my plugins in the process. Does anyone know if my older generation New Blue legacy plugins will work with Vegas Pro 20?

Appreciate it - thanks

Yes, any OpenFX plugin that works in Vegas Pro 10 should work fine in VEGAS Pro 20 with the possible exception of Titler Pro. I have not seen any issue with any of the effects working, though. However, they were last updated many years ago so it really is strongly advised to update to the current versions - the easiest way is with TotalFX which has all effects, all transitions, plus Titler Pro. Should find some good deals this week too!

J-v . . . thanks the response and suggestion (happy holidays).

Jetdv . . . thanks for responding. I'm pleased to learn that I should be "good to go". I'll price check TotalFX (lol). I edit for fun and I don't make any money in return so I kinda have to balance the investment. I much appreciate the knowledge (happy holidays).

Well, if you only change software every 10 years, that's not so bad.
But I'm afraid if you switch to Vegas Pro 20, Santa will have to bring a new PC, too.

@SupaC happy holidays to you too! (Why did it take so long?) 🙃

My copy of Vegas 11 came with NewBlue Motion Effects and Motion Blends, while Vegas 13 had Video Essentials 6, and they all work fine on v19.

The Pro Titler that came with 12 and 13, however, did not work at all.

That would have been Titler Pro 1. And changes were made in Titler Pro 3 because of some changes made in later versions of VEGAS that caused Titler Pro 1 to not work which is why I said - with the possible exception of Titler Pro.

Thanks - It really wasn't the plan to wait so long to upgrade.

I built my current PC 2 years ago so I have the specs to handle Vegas 20 / 21.

Ha . . . I generally tend to use things until I get the very last once of usefulness out of it before I move on.
