Don't understand what Magix doing re:VP14

BruceUSA wrote on 9/22/2016, 1:15 PM

I base this on the old SONY Vegas.  When SONY announced and released a new version of Vegas.  They immediately offered existing Vegas users an upgrade price right away. So that exist users can take advantage of the offer and buy the software.  Magix seems to be totally the opposite.  They don't says much what is happening, rather let all the people out there keep guessing.

My question to Magix.  Whats the HOLD up?  please offer users upgrade price and release activation code to those whom purchased the $199 offer for VP13+14  right away.  I see no reason not doing so right away.   Any one else has opinons about this?

Judging by the comments in many current threads, yes.

I agree the release is a mess. Now if the mess is becuase the MAGIX left hand and right hand are not in sync or if we users are just getting the shaft only time will tell.

fhu wrote on 9/22/2016, 2:56 PM

Does seem weird. I imagine it has to do with the Sony > Magix transition but that doesn't mean they should be silent about the hold up. I've heard "give it 3 days" -- so I'm cool until EOD tomorrow (9.23). Hopefully we will hear asap.

Agree.  Something must has happened between the Madison Vegas team and Magix marketing people.  It is a mess.  Prior to the release of Vegas Pro 14.  Magix were very active on this forum.  Now, they are all silenced.  That tell me there must be some disagreement happening in side Magix .

Just got the same Net Notify offer. "Vegas Pro 14 - for an unbeatable upgrade price. Offer valid until September 27, 2016". I think I'll wait and see if they can beat that $249 price later.

Quitter wrote on 9/22/2016, 3:36 PM

I no longer believe that they will reduce the price of the upgrades.

At $249 to upgrade to Vegas pro 14.  Magix will lose a lot of sales.  $249 is to high in my opinion.

The thing is, we were told to receive download link and serial number when VP14 released.  Well,  where it is?  No one received anything from Magix yet. The question is why Magix?

Because all employees are busy counting the money from the sale of VP14 😏

Spectralis wrote on 9/22/2016, 5:38 PM

The upgrade price is definitely $249 for Vegas Pro 14. There's not going to be a seperate special email offer for VP13 owners. Check out the post from Magix Gary here:

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/magix-will-there-be-an-upgrade-offer--103617/?page=4

vkmast wrote on 9/22/2016, 5:59 PM

Last summer offers need not be any scams. This is about those  Vegas Pro 13 users, who were discouraged to take up the offer or did not get it at all.

Btw, I posted on 7/28/2016 this:

I think it's futile to presume anything about the pricing of future upgrades from MAGIX until they announce the facts.

I still think this may well be the same in future. It's the market that finally decides.

vkmast wrote on 9/22/2016, 6:17 PM

I'm sure you all will receive what you have purchased. They just have not got their processes organized well enough yet, sadly.

BruceUSA wrote on 9/22/2016, 6:38 PM

I would not call it a scam but rather disappointed that Magic is lagging to provide serial activation code to customers whom already bought and paid for.
