Where are you trying to download from? Sony didn't make VEGAS Pro 20. If you are trying to download from a site that is calling it Sony Vegas 20, it is probably a cracked version.

Instead of trying to download "Sony" Vegas 20 (which exists only as a cracked version at suspicious 3rd party sites, as said above), have you tried to download an official version from the manufacturer's site or using the link here? If a browser (Chrome) does not download, try another browser.

There is no "sony vegas official site" and the actual official site does not change the name to "sony vegas pro 20". You may need to send a support request (and include the link to the site that you used) to VEGAS Support. Advice here.

On sony vegas official site ...

Could you please provide the URL address for the 'Sony Vegas official site' that you accessed.

If it is a pirate website offering cracked software that you've accessed (and as mentioned before if it said Sony Vegas 20 - then it is a pirate website), it is not impossible that the website has possibly hijacked your computer. This could explain why trying to download VP20 from a legal source is defaulting to the 'Sony' (pirated) download. Who knows what outcomes can result these days from dodgy websites.

Thank you. Interestingly, going to that link (it looks to be Vegas' European website), I see no mention of Sony.

is there a way to download older version?

Dexcon wrote on 8/17/2022, 7:34 AM

Vegas/MAGIX does not sell previous (older) versions of Vegas Pro. You might be able to find a recent older VP version on Steam (but then you'd be in the Steam universe which is different to the usual retail approach via MAGIX - and support would by via Steam) or on other sales websites like Amazon, but there have been many reports on the forum in recent years that look like the same serial number has been sold to many purchasers by private sellers on Amazon - in other words just scams. So caveat emptor.

@Matej-Kuti MAGIX allows you to download a trial of the latest version from https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/int/ (or your area's version of that URL, e.g. "us", "de" etc.). For older versions you need a legitimate serial number provided by MAGIX:

As above suggested, contact VEGAS Support, an advice link in that comment.

I don't see how you got the same result from my link, as that is a direct link to the VEGAS pro installation EXE, not the installer downloader (an app that downloads the above mentioned .exe file) that you posted pictures of.

That's because THERE IS NO "SONY" VEGAS"

Use the download links provided above and it will download the VEGAS installer from Magix. Then you just run the installer. It does NOT pull up the first image you posted above but goes straight to the install.

Now, based on the other images, it appears you may have an actual install issue. Please make sure you run the installer as an administrator - right-click the installer and choose "Run as Administrator". It says it can't locate a file. If it's trying to write the file in a temporary location and cannot because of your user rights, that could be why you are getting that error. Otherwise, you really need to contact Magix support so they can help you get it installed.
