Effects Render Differently From How Previewed [Vegas 17]

Cantersoft wrote on 5/9/2020, 6:16 PM

The image on the left is how one frame from my video rendered, on the right is how the same frame looks in the preview, and how it should look.

The issue seems to be one of the VFX. The effects I used were "VEGAS Rays" and "VEGAS Light Rays". How can I make the effect render properly?

Software: Vegas Pro 17.0

Processor: Intel Core i7 8th Gen

Graphics Card: Intel UHD Graphics 620

Operating System: Windows 10

Add VideofX / Levels / Computer to Studio RGB filter to the Video Output fX buss.

.

Render again and report the results.

@john_dennis

That fixed the issue. Should I always use that effect on the BUS track as a general rule?

You should always level your video to match the expectation of the format to which you are rendering.

Really cool, you hit the nail on the head.
And we can add the 2nd nail on the hand:

You should level your timeline events to match the expectation of your preview equipment; you must level your video bus to match the expectation of the format to which you are rendering.
