I have one hard drive in my computer.  It is a Samsung sold state drive called a 850 Pro.  It is a 1 TB drive and it currently has 559.2 GBs of free space.

I am new to Movie Studio 15 and I have a basic question.  When I am in Movie Studio 15, and I click on the Project menu, and then select "Make Movie", is the movie suppose to be rendered in Movie Studio 15, and then for burning, it is exported to DVD Architect?  Or is the movie burned in Movie Studio 15?

I have moved my movie files off my Sony camera's SD card, and placed them on my desktop.  I import them from my desktop into Movie Studio 15.

Should I be placing my movies someplace else?  Or should I create a directly some place to place my movie that is ready to render and burn? I accepted all the defaults when I installed Movie Maker 15 and DVD Architect.

Could this be my issue?

The error message you posted a link to is similar to mine, but I only have one hard drive and a lot of free space. 

The movies I am working with as I am getting to learn the software are between 2 and 4 minutes long.

I should add that the type of files I am trying to burn from my Sony camera are called XXX.MTS if that makes any difference....

Eric's right, it's rendering and burning from your Vegas Movie Studio 15 Platinum timeline then. I just tested a project with some short .mts files (saved in Movie Studio 15 Platinum Projects folder; Image parameters, File path C:\Users\thisuser\AppData\Local\Movie Studio Platinum\15.0\projectname.iso). The project was rendered and "disc burned without errors". I also tested Render image only with MC mpeg-2 and Sony AVC formats and the .isos played OK in VLC.

Thank you for your help EricLNZ. I did not build in any menus or multiple movie clips. It was just one short 2 minute clip that I tried to burn as a Blu-ray. So if that is done with in Movie Studio 15, than I did not use DVD Architect (if I understand you correcty).

I read the links posted.  They seemed to not apply to Movie Studio 15, or my set up with only one hard drive.  But to be honest, I did not understand what I was reading very well.

Did you store the file you imported into Movie Studio 15 in:

C:\Users\thisuser\AppData\Local\Movie Studio Platinum\15.0\mraroid.mts

If so, I can put my file in this location and try it all over again  I was placing it on my desktop.  Was that my problems?

No. I did not store it there. Please read my post again.

I'm confused by your file situations. You shouldn't be storing your source material in a User\AppData folder. Your Desktop should not be a problem as it's not in AppData, but I'd personally create a folder on the C drive so the path is simply C:\Video Capture (or something similar).

In case permissions is causing your problem, despite you apparently having full admin rights, try creating a folder outside of AppData and telling Movie Studio to use that in "Image Parameters" instead of the default folder.

Interestingly I get the message below if I follow your DVD route, and I believe I have all admin rights. Clicking OK takes me to the next screen but I then cancelled as I don't burn single movie Blu-ray discs.

Agree again with what Eric says. I get that message as well, but ignore it and proceed successfully.

Could you post the correct place for me to place the file that I want to import into MS15? I take it that this matters? Would the place that I save the rendered file make any difference?

I just ordered the book "Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 15" by Grisetti.

I know that in Windows one is suppose to have a user account as well as the one admin account. I never did that.  I have one account and it is admin.  I will look into creating a user account.

I had been putting all the test files on my desktop to import into MS15.  I will take your advice and create a folder and then put the files I wish to import into MS15 in that folder.

I am not exactly sure how to " "Image Parameters" instead of the default folder", but will read the help fies and learn how to do this.  Appreciate the tip.

I will try this today and post my results.

If you have Movie Studio 15 Platinum, read from this very thread.

If you have Movie Studio 15 (basic, non-Platinum), you do not have the DVD Architect, which comes with the Platinum version. You need a workaround (or to upgrade). You cannot burn from the timeline of the basic version.

I am getting the same error message.  Here is what I have done...

When I go into the one account I have on my computer and click "Change your account type"  It says  "You can not change your account type because you have the only admin account on this PC".

When I launch MS15, I see that I have a option to launch it as "Run as administrator".  So I tried that this time.

I made a folder called MS15 under my Video folder.  I put my source .MTS file in this folder.  I launched MS15 as admin.  I imported my file and then dropped it to the time line.  I opened Properties to check that all the data looked correct.  I did this under the Project menu, and when I right clicked on my video clip.  When I pulled my video clip down to the time line, and then right clicked on it, I found that the properties selection was grayed out.

Under project, I select "Make Movie" .  Then I select "Burn to a DVD or Blu-ray". I put a blank Blu-ray disk in my internal blu-ray burner.  Then I select "Blu-ray disk". I get a pop up menu.  It sees my blu-ray burner.  I click on OK, and then the movie renders.  After it goes to 100%, i get the following message:

Status: MUXComp:Validating error. --- Cannot load the schema for the namespace 'http://tempuri.org/ProjectDefinition.xsd' - Could not find file 'C:\Users\Test\AppData\Local\Movie'..

Could it be that i need to change the place where the movie goes after it is rendered? On the last screen I get before the movie renders, it says:

Image Parameters:

File path:  C:\Users\Test\AppData\Local\Movie Studio Platinum\15.0\Untitled.iso

I take it that " Image Parameters" and file path is talking about where the rendered image is put? If this is so, is the default correct, or should I change it?

I was not sure if "Image Parameters: File path:" was where it saved rendered files. I will pick something new, and change it. And yes, I click the button that says "render and burn".

I created a new folder called "renderedms15". I did what I outlined as before. When I came to the last screen before the movie starts to render and burn, I changed the path to:

C:\Users\Test\Videos\renderedMS15\Untitled.iso

I had to name the file "Untitled.iso" as no files were in the new folder I created. Should I have named my project before hand? If so, how do I do that?

The default that was selected for me on the page where I entered in the new path and folder was pre selected as "render and burn".

As before, the file rendered and when it got to 100%, I received the error message below:

I do not know what a "schema" is. I do not know why a URL needs to load. I am always connected to the internet if that makes any difference. I looked in C:\Users\Test\AppData\Local. I have a folder called "Movie Studio Platinum" That folder has a sub folder called "15.0".

I installed MS15 Suite from the DVD i bought directly from Magix. It was build # 102. Before I tried to make any movies, I updated it to build # 157. I did not get any error messages when I install MS 15 Suite or when I updated to build # 157.

Any help appertained.

As I've said, this works for me ( all Defaults): Import the files to the timeline, save the project (Project > Save as), Make Movie > Burn it to a DVD or Blu-ray Disc > Blu-ray Disc > Render image and burn > OK.

If changing the Image parametes File path or this solution here does not help, I'm out of ideas at the moment..

Looking at the link you posted. Is "VMS9" another video editing software suite? It looks like this person was using Vista. I am out of ideas as well, so I will try the file folders that were used in the link above and see what happens.

Looking over the literature enclosed with my disk, I see a link for tech support. If the above will not work, I will contact Magixn tech support for some help.

Btw, did you check the path for Temporary Files folder in Options > Preferences > General? ("solution" mentioned in that VMS9 link)

As vkmast mentioned there are some old threads, both here and elsewhere. The "tempuri.org" webpage VMS15 is trying to reach does not exist but why is it trying to reach it anyway? And having just tried a Blu-ray burn to an iso image I, like vkmast, don't run into the problem! Very puzzling. I hope Magix Tech Support have the answer.
