Using trial version of Vegas Post 21.0 (build 108): When selecting 'Edit in Vegas Effects' I get the following message: "An error occurred during the current operation. The reason for the error could not be determined"
Thanks for the reply. I can only assume it is the version you listed above because I never has any previous version of Post (and therefore any Vegas Effects) installed. I cannot load the Vegas Effects program because all it tells me I have to activate Post first and won't load.
This does bring up the question: How does one activate 'Post'? I have activated Vegas Pro 21, but have no clue how to activate 'Post'.
Thanks for the reply. I will assume your comment about only being able to test (activate) Vegas Pro is true because I only have (and had) Vegas 21 trial installed. I uninstalled Vegas 20 a while back and even though I am allowed two installs, I could not have used 2 activations.
So one wonders why we are even allowed to download all the 'Post' programs if we cannot even test them out. In further support of your only using Vegas 21, Vegas Image installs but comes up blank when started.
@bjtap1 generally, as the comment I linked said, "I was able to activate VEGAS Post by deactivating VEGAS Pro 17 ("Help" menu > "Deactivate the software on this PC") and then re-activating VEGAS Pro 17 using the new serial number for VEGAS Post." AFAIK, this applies to VEGAS 21 as well.
And the Post trial limitation was discussed earlier e.g. towards the end of this thread.
Nope... there is no trial of Vegas Effects/Image. When VP20 was released, I too downloaded the "trial" version of Post, and only VP20 worked. It was confirmed by VEGAS that Effects will not activate with the trial and to purchase and test within the return policy.
I wanted to test the integration between Effects and Vegas. I already have Hitfilm Pro installed and can send to that timeline for work, but wanted tighter integration and workflow.
