Eternal wait to open Vegas

I am having no sucess with Vegas whatsoever. I am using Win7 Professional on an i-5 PC and have recently fitted a new C:Drive. This is a Samsung Evo 1TB SSD and 16GB of Ram. This is blisteringly fast with all my other programs in my PC but NOT with Vegas. It is taking over 3 minutes to load my currrent film (about 9.5 GB of files). If it does not crash before it is finished, when I try to create a title I cannot access any of my favourite fonts from the Win 7 folder. According to Vegas they do not exhist. I am totaly disenchanted with this software. If no one can help then I am going to carry on using Serif Movie Plus X6. I am running the same film in Serif software in a 2nd older PC only fitted with a Seagate Hybrid C:Drive and 8 GB of Ram.The whole project opens in seconds. There must be others out there using similar equipment to me. It does not make any sense. Can anyone suggest any reasons for my PC to behave in this manner. Thanks in advance.

Are you using Vegas Pro or Vegas Movie Studio? Which version and build?

Hi Eric, Thank you for answering. I am using Vegas Movie Studio 15 Suite. I have not put in all the suite only DVD Architect which is another program which did not work properly and crashed when I completed a very small film on it last year.

You might start troubleshooting from the link in point 1 of this FAQ.

To see if your hardware specs do follow the need for some kinds of footage that can be worked with we need also the MediaInfo of your sourcefiles, your projectsettings (screenshot please) and the kind of codec and template you want to use for your export, plus the specification of your i5 processor.

Yes, most of the info requested by j-v is also mentioned in point 15 of "this FAQ".

Thank you all for your help. Nothing has worked. Right clicking on a File in Vegas Explorer window simply crashes the program. Please don't suggest any more possible fixes as I have decided life is too short (I am 77) and will now continue making my films in Serif Movie Plus X6.
