Everytime I drop a media item in, it shows up in my preview box small

Not only does it show up small and i have no idea how to get it to fill the preview screen....Whenever I add my media fx to it they don't show up and aren't visible...I'd like to have it so i don't have to take these extra steps, but i can find no answers for my dilemma anywhere on google or youtube. and right now there is a little red line also on my preview screen. I used to have vegas 13 and never had that problem. I'm sure it's an easy fix, but i cannot for the life of me figure it out. Please HELP!!! I now am currently using Magix Movie Studio 17 Platinum

You probably added the media to the picture-in-picture track. Move the event to the video track.

@VEGASDerek i did that and it didn't change anything, but the weird this is i did it yesterday and it worked....that's why i thought I had it all figured out, but the picture still shows up tiny and doesn't fill the preview screen

Make sure your Effects Preview Split screen is disabled.

Advice re that button here, section 1.

And can you show us screenshots of your Preview window and timeline.

(Thread moved to the Movie Studio forum.)

So i somehow believe i figured out how to fill the screen and add my effects, but now when i add "text" aka generated media its not showing up and sometimes not even in the box so i can't resize and place it where i want to

@Jonathan-Rouse As vkmast asked earlier "show us screenshots of your Preview window and timeline". Without it it's difficult to understand what your problem is.
