While not diminishing your suggestion @alifftudm95 because you find Expanded Edit Mode useful whereas as you note many don't because of accidentally opening that mode (so easy to do inadvertently), it may be timely to remind Vegas Creative Software of the many requests/discussions on the forum over the years to make the Expanded Edit Mode an on/off option via Options/Preferences or by Internal preferences - the former the better IMO. 'On' for those who want it for their editing procedure, and 'Off' who don't want or need it and are happy to avoid those accidental activations of the mode.

That is why I'm saying the way VEGAS implement the Expanded Edit is not that very great.

Because users often accidentally triggered it. VEGAS Should replace it with a shortcut key instead. Like hold left click something or use keyboard combinations to put it in Active.

Meanwhile (from the FAQ section 28) the options:

Choose "Edit" > "Select" > "Exit Expanded Edit Mode"

Press 5 on the numeric keypad

Double-click the event edge

Press Esc on your keyboard

The idea is to keep the event edge double click mechanism to enter/exit EEM, but provide a message to turn it off along w/ a Don’t Show Me Again option. This way users can still discover EEM, but have the option to override the double click default along with an option to reset it.

If I remember correctly, very, very few in the discussion asked for this function to be retained.
If I remember further, these few were not newbies to video editing, but mostly experienced users. And they will look for this function - and find it too.
Conversely, getting lost in the expanded edit mode affects a predominant proportion of new users who are not that familiar with where they can find good information about the software.

Still, please do not confuse the Expanded Edit Mode with the Expand Track Layers feature.

The old FAQ advice: "28.  Why is my video track split between "A" & "B" tracks?
If a red square bracket appears at the end of one of your video events then you are in Expanded Edit Mode. To exit expanded edit mode, do one of the following:

Choose "Edit" > "Select" > "Exit Expanded Edit Mode" or Press 5 on the numeric keypad or Double-click the event edge or Press Esc on your keyboard

If no red square bracket appears then your track layers are simply expanded. To "unexpand" them, right click on the track header (the area to the left of the track) > uncheck "Expand Track Layers".

Thank god its no longer there, great job VEGAS Team, but that slide edit like resolve maybe can try to implement to VEGAS.
