How to change Sony Vegas Pro 16 (build 248) to go from LEFT to RIGHT?

tom-n wrote on 2/6/2019, 7:47 AM

I have just installed Sony Vegas Pro 16 on Windows 10 64bit and its different from Sony Vegas Pro 14.

The order of all the things goes from right to left here's a picture link.

How the bloody heck did you even do that???

As far as I know, that isn't the normal config for ANY version of Vegas -- at least not since Vegas Video V3!!! I tried, and I can't figure out how to get my VP 16 to do what yours is doing, much less figure out how to get it to look like it should. I'm sorry I'm not helping much. The only reason I write this is to tell you what you have there is not the default config for V16.

Does your timeline PLAY in the wrong direction, too?

Note to self (everyone else please look away -- the note that follows is a reminder for mine eyes only): Figure out a clever, kick-booty signature that suggests I'm completely aware of how to properly and exhaustively party on and that I, in fact, engage in said act on a frequent and spontaneous basis. All joking aside, listing my computer's properties is a futile endeavor. I edit multimedia in a local television station newsroom that has Vegas Pro installed on several machines with widely varied specs. We began editing non-linearly with Pinnacle Studio Version 8. That didn't last long before we upgraded to Vegas Video Version 4, then to Vegas Pro 10.

It plays from Right to Left

Could it be because my windows 10 language goes from right to left too?

Have you tried resetting Vegas Pro to default settings -- Holding CTRL+SHIFT while you start Vegas?

Ah -- you might have very well stumbled on your own solution!

Well i cant really change but still thanks

While I don't have a solution for you, I can't help but correct you. Versions of Vegas Pro from 14+ should be called MAGIX Vegas Pro, Sony hasn't owned Vegas Pro since version 13.

ok

Turd wrote on 2/6/2019, 8:57 AM

Thanks, ZaitherZe -- I usually catch it when someone makes the the all-too-common Sony/Magix faux pas, but I missed it this time on tom-n.

tom-n: You might try uninstalling Vegas COMPLETELY (search this forum for instructions), changing your Windows language, then reinstalling Vegas. It sure makes sense to me that Vegas is somehow following your lead on your language choice.

I guess it does make sense, OTOH his VPro 14 seems to behave otherwise.

There are YouTubes that show how to change language. Try changing it to English, see if it makes a difference.

I'm postulating (quite possible incorrectly) that Vegas uses the current language properties upon installation. So if Windows was set to, let's say, English, when VP14 was installed, it used English language properties. Then, perhaps tom-n changed Windows to a right-to-left language before installing VP16, so that install took-on those language properties.

I admit I'm just throwing darts here, but this is my best dart!

Possibly a Hebrew/Arabic version?
