I have a project with clips from many sources into my vegas pro 20 timeline. How can I tell what the bit depth is of a given clip? How can I tell the chroma subsambling?
Thank you very much vkmast! I installed the program and tried it. It tells me that a file is chromo sampled at 422, but I cannot find anywhere where is says the bit depth. Is it in a different place?
Perfect. Now I realize I have to go to tree layout view and I see it all. Awesome. Now I am going to push the question. Is there any way to see these within Vegas Pro? Like when in vegas and I press properties on a media? Or when I set the project media to detail view and see a lot of columns with details, is there a way to add bit depth and chroma as columns?
When I right click on the media within vegas and choose properties I get this pop up. which doesn't contain the information about chromo or bit depth. Can you point me in the right direction? John
If you have MediaInfo installed, try right-clicking on the file in the Project Media (or Explorer) window. From the opening dropdown menu select "Explore Current (or Containing) Folder". Right-click there on the relevant file, and Open > MediaInfo. And see also this related comment (and thread).
