Just trying out VEGAS Pro 19 and can't seem to record screen

William-Fister wrote on 1/3/2022, 12:58 PM

I have just recently taken a trial of Sony Vegas in the hopes of using for creating videos to post on youtube and share with friends. I haven't even been able to get out of the gate so far by recording my screen. I am wondering if that feature is not available during the trail and furthermore what is the general feeling about support with this program. I notice that there is no toll free support or direct connection to support has anyone experienced a problem with this?

@William-Fister, what version of Vegas are you testing? Sony was versions 5 through 13.

Some current versions of VEGAS Pro 19 by Magix comes with NewBlue Stream which is what I've been using to record my tutorials from both the camera and the screen.

I am testing version 19. I opened the program, File, Vegas capture ( I use multiple screens and I select the screen that I want to record) at this point I would expect the preview screen to that screen. I select record and the screen remains blank. Thinking maybe that I am wrong about the preview screen I end the recording select automatically import all captured media ... I attempt to play and there is nothing but black screen. (this is according to the instructions (as I understood them) on Vegas Website. Any thoughts about what I might be doing wrong?

Re VEGAS Support, click "Support" at the top of this page. Advice e.g. here.

No it's not. Personally, I use VEGAS Stream and there are many other options available.
