I was curious, in the Bezier masking tool, and go to the Curve Edit tool and select Split, I see the Split Tangent tool, but it doesn't seem to be working. So far, that's all I've noticed. Otherwise, no crashes or glitches.

I do hope to get to this shortly. However my editing computer doesn't fancy it. Upon switching it on yesterday after a 3-month break, it worked for approximately 1 minute before totally dying. It did inform me briefly that it was "entering power saving mode" before doing so. Hopefully it's just pining for the fjords. Suggestions for resurrecting it are very welcome. Full spec in my profile.

Is there a UPS connected to your PC? If so, remove the cable, UBS or otherwise that is communicating with the UPS.

Thanks. That's the first thing I tried. Unfortunately still dead.

I have that same symptoms on my machine and for uk now reasons, it will come back on. Does it do anything at all when you press the power button? You can also try and remove all add-on cards, must leave the graphic card inside.

Thanks for the replies fellas.

Nothing at all. Totally lifeless.

I'm thinking that too. I guess it didn't like what my UPS was giving it when first turned on. It's a Corsair RM1000. I guess it's still under warranty so I'll see if I can get it fixed or replaced. Might try this test procedure on it first: https://www.wikihow.com/Check-a-Power-Supply

Incidentally my 2nd UPS that supplies my monitors and router was also faulty when I switched it on. Won't stop beeping, despite apparently working. Computer gear doesn't like being off for a long time, especially in a humid environment!

AVsupport wrote on 9/1/2018, 5:00 PM

no, it doesn't (I lived in the tropics for 8 yrs..advice on the street was never turn your pc off ever..dust& humidity is a silent killer)

tried? unplug, wait, safe boot to bios? if not working, remove gfx card, and perhaps ram to the absolute minimum? good luck, wishing you all the best from my holiday destination

In case anyone wonders, it was the power supply. I got a new RM1000X as a warranty replacement and I'm up and running again.

I have updated the Known Issues post with the issues that remained in VP15 that have been fixed up to and including VP16 build 261. I have not yet added any new issues with VP16. While I'm getting back up to speed, if anyone cares to list any VP16-specific, clearly-definable issues here, I will look into adding them. It helps if you link to a discussion post or comment about the issue, if there's a repeatable step-by-step procedure to demonstrate it, and if the issue has been officially reported.

Debbie-Whitmer wrote on 9/5/2018, 4:26 PM

I just purchased Vegas Pro 16 two (2) days ago for my PC using Windows 7. I have found one immediate issue that needs fixing. When creating TEXT, I like to use the “Legacy Text”. When you first bring it up, it always says, “SAMPLE TEXT” in large letters. I noticed a problem right away when it would not let me highlight the text and select DELETE to get rid of the text before typing my own text. I had to use the backspace button to remove each letter seperately at a time. THEN the 2nd issue is that it USED TO ALLOW you (in Vegas Pro 15) to manually put in the font size number you wanted for your font size. Now it will not. It only accepts the default values. This is not a good thing as this should be a VERY BASIC thing that should work. For example, there is a default font size that is 36 points and then it jumps to 48 points. I wanted to manually put “40” which would have been perfect for my project but it will not let me. Again, Vegas Pro 16 is only allowing the default font size values. This needs to be fixed where you can put any numerical font SIZE you want. PLEASE FIX!!

I don't see these problems entering text in my VP16 b.261 installation. I can both select and delete the sample text in one go and still enter a font size manually.😕

Debbie-Whitmer wrote on 9/5/2018, 11:58 PM

ryclark - Thank you so much for responding. I was have trouble with this ALL DAY LONG even after rebooting and shutting down the computer and bringing it back up again to clear everything out but to no avail. And it was doing it on a major project I was working on too. Never have I seen this kind of thing happening on text before; it was perplexing. I shut down that project and I decided to just open Vegas Pro 16 up and play around with the text only starting from scratch with nothing but text. And it started working. Then, I brought my major project back up again and, I don't know what happened, but now it seems to be working right! Whew! Thx again for your feedback ryclark! 😀
