Lost Serial Number for VEGAS Pro 14

Nathan-Miles wrote on 12/2/2020, 5:38 AM

I'd like to reinstall my Sony Vegas Pro 14 because I had to reinstall Windows. Unfortunately I can only find my Order Number. I have purchased it digitally so I do not have a box with the serial number.

In my Magix account the only product listed however is Vegas 13 trial, but not my Vegas Pro 14.

However in my Sony Vegas Account I can't even select products at all, this category does not exist.

How can I contact support to get my serial number? I probably have a problem with my account (maybe old account? 2 Accounts?) I cannot solve. I can prove the purchase. Any link that leads to support is a dead end without direct contact info.

I originally posted on Magix forum because I made a note I purchased it from Magix. But they referred me to the Vegas Forum.

Any help please?

First, Sony / SCS does not have anything to do with VEGAS software versions # 14 and later. They all come from MAGIX. If you installed and registered your previous install of VEGAS Pro 14, it should be in your Account. If not, you need to find the serial number in your confirmation email from MAGIX.

VEGAS Support is the last resort, but no guarantee of them being able to help.

Btw, if you know your old login details there you should be able to still find your SCS serial numbers at https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/myaccount/mysoftware

Thank you for your help, especially if this is the wrong place to ask.

MAGIX linked me to this forum in the first place saying Vegas Pro had nothing to do with Magix. This is why I posted here, sorry for that.

I also checked my products on my MAGIX account but my Vegas Pro 14 is not listed there.

I can not find the serial number, which is why I am trying to find help. I don't have that email anymore, only the order number and my purchase statement.

I tried the VEGAS support, but like I said, it's a dead end with no contact method provided, it's the same with MAGIX.

Thank you for the link to the old sony website. I don't have my old password anymore, so I try to reset it. When resetting the password it sends the email, but in the email it is saying it doesn't recognize this email address being used for an account. So unfortunately I didn't create an account there with any of my emails.

What else can I do?

While this will not solve your current problem, but it may be a good time to think about creating a document or spreadsheet listing all your digital products along with email addresses, passwords, serial numbers, etc. If using Word or Excel the serial number pages can be password protected.

A user-created tutorial for asking Support here https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/anyone-have-a-tech-support-email-for-vegas-pro-support-at-magix--120274/#ca749729

Please note that this forum is "VEGAS Community - Your place for news, discussing topics or help with VEGAS software"

We understand your issue but we are users as well and not able to find your serial numbers. As I said earlier, the VEGAS Support is your last resort.

@vkmast

I finally found the email with the serial number!

When I searched my most obvious email address I must have been searching for sony vegas only. But the email was sent from Magix, which I was also looking for but only on my other email addresses. I feel so stupid. Sorry and thank you very much for your support!

Btw the user created tutorial link is fantastic, I tried that way to contact support but got myself in a loop, but can see now how it is working.

@Dexcon

Thank you for the idea, I started this today, this will certainly help in the future!

@Nathan-Miles excellent, thanks for confirming! @Dexcon's advice is what we might call "a must".

(Btw, I corrected the title/branding of the software in the topic title.)
