Hi Eagle, Yes, I'm using Main Concept with VMS15 on my Windows 7 tower where it shows up in the Render As menu. On my Windows 10 laptop VMS15 Render As menu does not include Main Concept. My conclusion, only my Win 7 tower has VMS11 installed and I believe, but have not confirmed, that VMS15 picks up Main Concept from VMS11. Result: no-crash renders...sofar.

@robbif2 Nice new avatar. With the new Magix AVC/AAC you probably have two choices - MainConcept or QSV if you use Intel. I don't know what comes up with other graphic processors. So you need to look at which option you are actually using because as you can see Magix AVC/AAC is using MainConcept.

For using the old Mainconcept in VMS 15 and 16, you have to allow it in the internal preferences.
In my screenshot you see the default setting of VMS 15

I always try to use for my rendering in VMS 16 a customized default Magix AVC rendertemplate that gives me better performance than the old Main Concept that cannot use a modern GPU without renderfaults with me. My most used rendersetting is this customized one of Magix AVC

Which advantage has your modified template against the standard template, beside lowering bitrates, changing the quality preset and switching from VBR to CBR?

For me this one gives me the best and the fastest result with the smallest filesize.
I found that settings by experimenting rendering my videotuts to a good, fast and small filesize ready for fast upload.The by OBS made (with the intel GPUhelp) screengrabs I edit and render out with at least this customized template in VPro 16.

That template was my startpoint for doing the same with my camera-, GoPro 7- and smartpone video's to play on my 4K TV. Now and than I render also with the Magix HEVC codec for even smaller filesizes but while they take longer rendertime and I have enough available place on my small harddisc for the USB connection , most of the time I switch back to AVC because I can play that on more devices.

Screengrabs from Vegas interface with almost no motion and large areas with the same color definitely doesn't need high bitrates. But, I wouldn't use these settings for videorecordings from a (U)HD camera with lot of motion and details.

I don't care about renderspeed or filesize, only picturequality counts.

But ofcourse you can use those settings when they fullfil your needs.

@robbif2 Your VMS15 on your Windows 10 machine also has the MainConcept AVC render format and templates, however they are hidden as a default. Go 'Options' hold down the 'Shift' key while left clicking on 'Preferences'. Now the Preferences display will also show an 'Internal' tab. Select this Internal tab. Type in the search box at the bottom 'main' and in the list will appear 'Enable Mainconcept AVC/AAC Render plugin'. Change the 'Value' to 'TRUE', click on 'Apply', click on 'OK'. You will then have the legacy MainConcept AVC/AAC render format/template options available.

In addition to the above: Selecting also "Allow legacy GPU rendering", this option will allow access to GPU rendering options for Main Concept AVC/AAC and Sony AVC/MVC renderers. (You'll see the Encode mode dropdown menu.)
