mouse scroll button fail...

wwjd wrote on 2/15/2018, 3:49 PM

puzzled. In sliders, like BRIGHT& CONTRAST or CC, I used to be able to roll the SCROLL WHEEL up and down to go left and right in the slider. Now I can scroll wheel UP to go RIGHT, but the down does NOT go back left. Yet, scroll wheel works up and down in ALL other programs. Even zooms in and out on time line, and zooms in and out on PAN/CROP. The scroll wheel is functioning just fine. But no longer DOWN goes left on sliders?

I've removed drivers and re-added, but, every place else it works just fine.

Anyone else have this? Or fixed it? Not sure if bug or just mine.

Not seeing that behavior with my mouse on VP15. Scroll works in both directions on BRIGHT& CONTRAST or CC .. Using Logitech M705 mouse.

Yeah, mine used to work fine (still does in most parts of Vegas) - probably some MS update. I'll try another mouse.

Interesting, it is not working on Version 12 either and I am sure it has worked in the past. Maybe a change in windows 10?

3POINT wrote on 2/16/2018, 12:44 AM

I have the same problem.

Former user wrote on 2/16/2018, 1:06 AM

I have two Windows 10 computers, one I have updated to Creators edition and one is not . The one that has not is working normally, the updated one does not. The driver version in the functioning one is 10.0.14393.0, the one with the incorrect function is 10.0.16299.15. MS strikes again.

I think I figured it out. Under the MOUSE settings there is an option to SCROLL inactive windows when hovering. If this is enabled, you can scroll to the right in settings but not to the left. If you disable this option you can scroll both directions. Let me know if this fixes it for you.

Former user wrote on 2/16/2018, 1:34 AM

The option is enabled in the older windows version but does not seem to affect mouse operation in Vegas.

It did. (Win10Pro 1709 b 16299.192)

I have the same problem with mouse scroll (working only one way -> up). But only in OFX plugins.

In vegas color correction - scroll working well (up and down) on CUSTOM tab. In Parameters tab - only up.

Is it Vegas problem? or .net?

Mateuszszar, did you see my post above about a possible fix?

Note: I do have some side-effects on my edge browser from time to time if you change this mouse behavior. Sometimes (so not always) when I want to scroll up and down in the edge browser, it seems to flip through pages of history left right. So while it seems to improve mouse behavior in vegas, there is still something "fishy" about the whole thing.

I seem to get this when tabbed browsing and going from one tab to another without "clicking" on the new (or old) windows tab browse contend.

I need now to click extra inside of the edge browser to avoid this unwanted behavior when tabbed browsing. I suppose it now requires each window to be active if you want to scroll it.

This seems to be an issue with the latest windows 10 driver. As I said my other computer does not have the Creator version of Windows 10 and with this option enabled, it works fine. Maybe MS will fix in a later update.

Former user wrote on 2/16/2018, 2:33 PM

I am seeing some drawbacks in turning it off. I did not realize how often I just start scrolling on a page or folder without selecting and it worked. Now you have to select before it works. I wish there was a way to use the driver from the previous windows update to replace the latest one.

wwjd wrote on 2/16/2018, 7:42 PM

Spot on, David, THANK YOU! This was SO annoying, knowing it was working FINE. Had to be the Win10 update, but surprised no one, nor Magix, caught this. I spin back and forth all day on that wheel. Thanks again for figuring it out.

NickHope wrote on 12/20/2018, 12:47 PM

This issue is fixed in VEGAS Pro 16 Update 3 (build 352). Rotating the mouse wheel downwards now correctly decreases sliders in OFX controls even if "SCROLL inactive windows when I hover over them" is enabled in Win 10.

bitman wrote on 12/21/2018, 4:05 AM

I confirm it is fixed and tested in the latest windows 10 edition 1809 (os build 17763.195)
