Using Win 10 everytime I close down MS13 I get a "Movie Studio Platinum has stopped working" Problem Report window with the option to send a report. I've sent a couple.
Sometimes it happens a second after closing MS13 down, other times it can be many seconds, even 30, before the window appears. The program starts okay next time I open it and none of my project files have, as yet, got corrupted.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Yes, with MSP 13 often.
Me as well. Seems to happen randomly. I don't worry about it, as long as you've saved your project just before closing there's no problem. Just remember that when you launch MSP13 again it'll ask you if you want to open the automatically saved version of your project. Don't say yes as this version may be somewhat older than your saved version.
The SCS devs had terrible trouble finding this bug but it has finally been fixed in VP14 build 201, so hopefully a similar fix can be applied to Movie Studio in the next update.
I recently experienced this bug in VP14 build 211 😭
It crashed several times on exit.
An update on this problem. I now find that the crash happens whilst I'm editing. Most annoying. I'm having to save my work a lot more frequently than normal. It can only be a Microsoft update that's caused it. I can only hope that a future update sorts it out.
MS14 Build 105 is also doing it - that's producing a Problem Report screen after shutting down....

I've now another twist to this shutting down problem. If I don't get the error message I'm unable to later reopen MS14. It hangs at 'Creating File I/O'. Opening up Task Manager shows a second entry for MovieStudio way down the Process list. Ending the task for this entry suddenly brings my hung MS alive and it starts opening.
