Movie Studio 13 Platinum Extensions Problem

Gerugon wrote on 11/4/2014, 10:24 AM
Hi, ive been using an extension (plugin, addon, whatever..) from VASST recently called Render Assistant and everything worked fine. A few days ago the green button from the extension went missing however and even under "view>extensions" and "options>extensions" there is no longer the option to add it again.

I did not patch the movie studio nor the extension so im not realy sure what happend here. If anyone could help me find a way to add the extension again it would be greatly apreciated because i need it for my work.

Ciao

I just checked this in my MSP 13 build 932, which used to not show all the VASST Fasst Apps extensions, only some of them. Now I experience the same as you, none of them show any more. I haven't patched/updated anything either.
JohnnyRoy of VASST posted earlier on the Pro forum that you should go back to build 879, until SCS fixes this (i.e. all not available). I didn't as they showed and still show in my MSP 12 (and in my VPro 13 b 310).
In this thread JohnnyRoy posted that "all of the VASST plug-ins that support Vegas Pro 13.0 have been updated."
Further info would indeed be welcome re MSPlatinum 13.

edit: my MSP 13 build 878 (32-bit) shows them, so the OP might try going back to build 879 (if he uses 932 now).

I rolled my version back a long time ago so I can continue to use the VASST add-ons until someone says it's safe to update. I'm running Version 13 Build 879 64-bit without a problem with the VASST products.

The FASST website only says their products "are compatible with Sony Vegas Pro (versions 10, 11, and 12) and * Doesn't mention Version 13 anyhow.

Doc,
this VASST site page mentions that MSP 13 and VPro 13 are among the supported versions. JohnnyRoy gave that link in the thread referred to in my previous post as well. Interestingly enough, if you click "Product Info" on that page, neither is included though as you say. The SCS Partner Products page does not include them either.

Thanks, vkmast. Good information. I was referring to the bottom of the main page for their Apps: Do FASST APPs work with all Sony Software? So, the intro to the apps could throw someone off from digging deeper.

Hi All, Thanks for pointing out that we missed a few placed on our web site where we should say that we are compatible with the English version of Movie Studio 13, Movie Studio Platinum 12 & 13, and Vegas Pro 9.0, 10.0, 11.0, 12.0, and 13.0.

We've gone through all of the pages and we think we have them all updated with the latest information. Let us know if we missed anything. ;-)

Thanks, JR!
Now waiting for SCS to update their Partner Products page, and above all get the FasstApps to work with later builds of MSP 13.

I found this in the MSP 13 build 932 release notes under 'Known Issues':

"When using the 64-bit version of Movie Studio Platinum, third-party plug-ins will work only if they are 64-bit plug-ins. Please check with the plug-in vendor for available updates. You can share projects between 32- and 64-bit versions of Movie Studio Platinum installations, performing editing as needed in 32-bit Movie Studio Platinum and finishing the project in 64-bit Movie Studio Platinum."

If this is the cause, SCS won't likely change it, but I do hope VASST releases 64 bit extensions.

dplester,
see JohnnyRoy's post above.
I have these extensions working in Vegas Pro 12 b 770, 13 b 310 (haven't updated this), Movie Studio Platinum 12 b 896. All of those are 64-bit.
I don't have them working in Movie Studio Platinum 13 b 932, 64-bit. JohnnyRoy of VASST says they work in MSP 13 b 879, 64-bit, which is confirmed by Doc S in this thread.

The Known Issue paragraph quoted was included in the MSP 12 release notes as well and MSP 12 64-bit does not have a problem with these VASST Fasst Apps extensions. Clearly something got broken in the updated build and needs to be fixed.

@JR, the home page of "fasstapps.com" still might need some "extension" re availability notwithstanding the above:)

MSP 13 build 943 update (12/12/14) release notes:
2.0 What's New

Yuppers - just downloaded and installed 943. My VASST Fasst Apps are now visible and appear to be working!

@vkmast And I see the note about 64 bit plug-ins is still there, as you said it was in previous release notes...kind of curious as to why it keeps appearing.

dplester,
re the Known Issue, e.g. some of the previous NB plug-ins appear only in 32-bit MSPlats.
