Movie Studio 16.0 Platinum software updater does not work

When I started Movie Studio Platinum a window popped up inviting me to download and install "an important update". When the downloading was complete, I was invited to update "now" or "later". I tried several times each option, but each time I ended up with a failure message saying that the update cannot be installed when the software is running. Why do you ask me to waste time with a software installer that doesn't work?

Didn't work. There's clearly a bug and the Vegas people either do not want or do not know how to fix it.

Your problem is probably not that the updater isn't working properly but that VMS isn't shutting down completely. This has been the subject of posts in VP and VMS.

That's what I suggested above as well. "Didn't work"...
