Movie Studio does not recognise DVDA

craig-sch wrote on 3/21/2017, 4:34 PM

I have just installed Movie Studio 14  Suite, including DVDA, but when I click on the "Make Movie" widget, after editing my project, I get a message saying that "it seems DVDA is not installed" etc...

I have installed it twice, and registered and Activated it !!

I can open DVDA independently, and add media (rendered files), but why won't the MS 14 widget work ? Any ideas ?

There should be a bug list sticky here as cornico suggested earlier.

This should be another Sticky.

Some time ago I asked for a stickey with all confirmed bugs Magix is handling.
Only Magix is able to do this.

Only Magix is able to do this.

Yes I know. We just keep posting these links time and again as Search/Find... does not seem to quite be catching on. Note that I defined my statement more correctly before you posted 😎.

I stopped doing that untill Magix reacts.

If somebody wants to compile a list of bugs, a mod can sticky it. It doesn't have to come from Magix or a moderator. The main issues seem pretty clear. I've been tempted myself, based on what I keep reading on the forum (I don't have VMS14), but I keep hoping that a new build is around the corner that will fix most of the main issues, so it won't be necessary.

If somebody wants............

I am somebody, but I'm also a user of their program. My thinking as a user is that the makers of the program are responsible for bugs and for communication about bugs, not users who buy that crippled software.

Yes but it's us the Users that find them. The bugs that is.

We also need to stress Cornico's words "confirmed bugs" here. Some of what the users see as "issues" are clearly planned. There's an enlightening article in VEGAS Magazine https://vegas-magazine.com/vms-14-interface/. To quote "we’ve designed smaller, less obtrusive buttons". In fact so much so that they acknowledge that more contrast is needed as many users report they are not able to see e.g. Active Take Information.

Some lacking features (e.g. Expand track layers) may well be due to "We just put them in the appropriate application. In other words, we’ve done a lot to refine the line and position each product to more effectively align to the video editors who will actually use these features ----At some point, you may consider going all the way up to VEGAS Pro." Certainly the $/€ 50 offer they're using to entice new customers into MVMSP 14 is "deep discount pricing that cannot possibly sustain a business." And some of the loyal users are not even encouraged to upgrade as they're not getting the special pricing unless they specifically ask.

But I digressed. Cornico has done a commendable job informing on the forum about the real issues. And Nick's already done more than his fair share to help us here even if he'd stop right here and now. I too hope for a "robust" update, but that is for the "higher ups" to decide if and when.

The higher ups may decide "if" and when they will update, but this consumer will decide if I ever purchase their product again.

Noknot, yes, that's our prerogative.
