Movie Studio Platinum 12 reinstallation

Hi,

First off I have to say, that nowadays it is hard to get any service from anywhere. First I go to the SONY site and check out the local sony providers. Then I go to the local store that sold me this piece of software. Then I get a phonenumber of my local Sony hotline. Then I call there. Then I get a funny email, that direct me to SonyCreativeSoftware.com and they wish me good luck. Then I use that site. Then I get information, that don't worry: MAGIX has bought the whole software, it is not Sony product anymore. Then I and up registering myself again to another Site (Magix support). Then I notice, there is no real persons or any email-addresses where I could get any service. Then I'm being sent to this forum (vegascreativesoftware). I'm wondering, if somebody could profit by arranging better service solutions? Now to the question:

I bought Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12 a couple of years back. It worked about year and a half. Then I had to reinstall windows 8. I reinstalled the software and it worked for a while. But now, it refuses to start and thinks that I'm running a trial version. When I type the serial number, the program chews it for a while and returns to the beginning claiming that the trial period has expired. How could I get the software running? I'm not willing to update to any other program. Platinum 12 is the best.

Try this workaround (customized for Movie Studio Platinum 12), if you have trouble now registering/activating. Back-up your registry as advised in the link before you try.
