Movie Studio Won't Import MP4 video files

ljennings25 wrote on 2/5/2020, 10:51 AM

My version of the Movie Studio 16.0 Platinum will not import my mp4 screen recordings. I do not know if I have the wrong settings set or what but I need help. I ahve a intel Pentium CPU G4560 @ 3.50 GHz. 24 GB of Ram and a Windows 10 64-bit operating system. I have a MSI GTX 2060 Graphics card and I am unsure what my sound card is. If you have any suggestions or tips those would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Where did the MP4 come from? Is it from a camcorder or was it created by software (screen recording software, for instance)? What is its resolution and frame rate?

It came from my elgato HD60 S+ screen recording software. The resolution is 1080p60 I believe if that is what the format setting is. I see something that says "Output: 1080p60, 26.7 Mbps (11.7GB / hour). Is that the information you need?

Is that what you are looking for?

EricLNZ wrote on 2/7/2020, 2:55 AM

Yes that's it. I'll leave the experts to look at the details and comment. @j-v @Steve Grisetti

Nothing wrong with the file so it has to be your hardware.
The processor of your stated hardware is much to weak to follow the specifications of the program. Your processor has 2 cores and the minimum amount needed for VMS 16 is 4 cores. So to me it looks normal that you can't load such compressed files as AVC and HEVC.

@ljennings25 Can you upload a short file to a cloud service such as Wikisend, Google Drive, for us to download and try. Personally I don't think it's your hardware. They're only 1080 files.

You could also try resetting first if you haven't already. Seems to have solved an Elgato issue here.

ljennings25 wrote on 2/8/2020, 12:10 AM

I tried resetting and it still comes up with the message "An online connection could not be established. Please make sure your computer is correctly connected to the Internet. A firewall may also be blocking access. If the problem continues, you can try the following: reset your Internet setting and then click on 'Activate & register immediately online' again." Sorry I do not know how to screen shot. Here are the videos that I cannot upload to Vegas. They are my first videos for my channel so bear with me :)
