need serial number for downloaded version of Studio 17 Platinum

John-Steers wrote on 8/31/2021, 5:40 PM

I purchased Vegas Movie Studio 17 Platinum on 7/29, but I hadn't had time to open it till now. I have it downloaded and I still have the initial link in my download folder. When I try to open it, it asks for a serial number... but I no longer have the email it came on -- if it matters -- so how can I get the serial number? HELP!

You need to contact Magix Sales. I'm not certain of the email address but try this "sales@magix.net".

When you have installed and activated your product its Serial Number should appear in your Magix account under My Products.

Do you think I should re-install it? Would that give me the serial number?

Thanks.

Unlikely but you have nothing to lose by trying.

I tried reinstalling but it didn't give me a SN. I emailed "sales@magix.net" as suggested and got an auto replay saying it didn't go through, that I should go to www.magix.info/ and create a ticket. I went there but there was nothing I could find to create a support ticket... It did give me a way to leave a message. Hope that worked. I gave them the date my payment cleared the bank to prove I DID order a paid version. I'll keep trying.
Thanks guys.

Log into your account online. Look for "My Products". It should be there

If you bought Vegas Movie Studio 17 Platinum from Vegas Creative Software / MAGIX, you would have had to have created an account with MAGIX to have made that purchase. In that case, you should log into your MAGIX account and, as has been suggested twice above, go to My Products on your MAGIX My Account and the SN should be there. SNs appear on my My Products list for MAGIX products that I've bought (mainly as bonus extras that came with the main Vegas Pro purchase) even though I'd never installed them.

If you can't recall your MAGIX password, the logon screen has a 'forgotten password' link so that the password can be reset via your email account.

For VEGAS Support you have to go to https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/support/interview/ (Support link above on the black bar on this page). A user-created tutorial here.

Your MAGIX account is here and here.

Thanks guys. I think I have enough to go it on my own.
Much appreciated.
