I imagine that there will shortly be an official post about this, but on opening Vegas Pro just before, there was a splash window with an invitation to download and install a new update (build 434). FYI.
As @Dexcon says, expect an announcement (with a link to a general discussion thread) in Forum News Patches later in the day from the VEGAS team in Madison WI, US.
I just downloaded the 434 build upgrade and it broke my HEVC encoder, which I need a lot this week. Using NVenc it produces files of 0 bytes in size. It does go through the render process, but it seems a bit slower than usual - it's faster than Intel QSV engine, though, which does work - kindof...makes a few errors in the video here and there.
Anyone know anything?
Edit: Just messed around with it and it seems like it was my own preset that I normally use it didn't like anymore. As soon as I took one of the factory presets it worked fine - and after tweaking the factory preset back to what I normally use, it still works fine...
Driver update still not working correctly for me, it finds the installed driver but nothing on-line. If you click the download link it takes you to the Vegas site.
Also there is now significant slider lag when using the levels filter & colour grading on a clip. (Looks like this has resolved following a PC reboot, however the driver update still not working correctly).
Updater gives fake news, says Update now, seems to pretend it's being done but never does. Or does it but doesn't show? More like , sigh, fake info. This used to be so straightforward and kept its word....
When trying to update from within the application I am getting "The Installer is unable to update Vegas Pro 18.0 while it is running", even when selecting the option to begin installation after the program closes. Not a very well tested piece of software. Anyone else seeing this?
Tried that too with no luck. Program downloads, un-installs AI component, then nothing. Pretty shameful roll-out.
I rebooted the Windows 10 machine and invoked the upgrade (perhaps for the 5th time) inside the application, selected the begin installation when program closes, and it finally worked. I did notice on one of the many failed attempts the Tasks Manager was indicating 2 Vegas Pro background process where running (one was probably the Installation component). What a pain in the ass for something that should be routine.
Track Motion window still don't remember size and position.
It's sad and ridiculous
I just did a test. So while track motion itself works (the exact settings persist after you save a project and close and reopen Vegas) the problem is that the window remains minimized when you reopen it again? I can replicate that here. (on a 1080p screen if it matters)
.mpg file will now import AC3 but I have a problem with some files. BTW, all the .mpg here were created with the Import DVD from the deprecated feature of Vegas Pro 18 (build 334).
Some of the files have the proper length while many others have a length of 13h ish. When I drop in the timeline, the audio is there with proper length but video is 13h long. The playback is fine for the length of the audio. The remaining of the video after the audio are garbage frames, it is a repeat of the first few frames of the clip. Easy workaround is to trim the video at the audio edge. An improvement over 373 but still not there yet.
Looking at the file in Windows, it has the proper length (00:36) and VLC plays is just fine, not 13h long.
After trying on two occasions to update from within the application I am getting "The Installer is unable to update Vegas Pro 18.0 while it is running", even after when I selected the option to begin installation after the program closes also as others. If I go to my account and download the program do I have to uninstall my previous version first or will it just overwrite the existing if I run it. Have to say I am not too happy with how this update is working from within the program itself.
With the installer taken from your account, you do not have to uninstall, it will detect your previous installation and update. However, as vkmast said, it uninstalled the AI models and never reinstalled them. I had to go to ...\Documents\MAGIX Downloads\Installationsmanager and run the AI models from there to get them back.

@Illusion Thanks for the advice on preforming the update. I am not sure what these AI models are. Could you elaborate please? Is it the Acoustic Mirror input files application. If so when I try to run/open this app its looking to install somewhere. Forgive me please its an age related problem.
