The only question is:
Why then is this version sold together with Vegas Pro 18? - but well - seems to be a mistake of Humble Bundle - and probably has nothing to do with Prodad itself.

Note that "Movie Edit Pro [was] rebranded as Magix Movie Studio for non European users. In Europe the program will continue with the European name of Video Deluxe". The HB offer includes a version of MAGIX Movie Studio. "This Mercalli V5 plugin version is only for MAGIX Video deluxe and MAGIX Video Pro X" (from proDAD statement).
Not too long ago, there was a HB for Video Pro X12 and some other software. In the advert on HB, it said that VPX included Mercalli V5. I wanted to try VPX, so bought it. I also have Mercalli 5 Suite with both Magix and Vegas activation keys, so didn't really care about the Mercalli not being really a part of deal.
But, to add moral support to those in the Magix group, I emailed HB and Magix. They pointed fingers at each other. But, since it was advertised to be included with VPX, I took a screen shot, emailed HB and Magix again, and with that, got a serial number. Then others in the Magix group got their serial numbers and were happy.
Someone took a financial bath on that deal for only $25. But the users who bought it were thrilled.
My suggestion is to write both HB and Magix about how misleading the advert is. There is "truth in advertising", and depending where you live and the laws where you live, they might have to live up to it. But really, they could supplied either serial number as I see it...
And it's a rental... 2 year license.
Note that MAGIX Movie Studio 22 is included with the bundle and the Mercalli V5 "Magix version" that is included does works with this, unfortunately not with Vegas Pro 18 as the Mercalli V5 "Vegas version" is required..
I think that it should be stipulated in the advert on Humble Bundle that Mercalli is for Magix, but I seriously doubt they will change anything. That version for Magix will work with both MS and VPX. A person has to consider if all they want is VP18, is it worth the price of everything else. I'd say yes if they ever wanted to try Vegas (and do not own it), and they have the upgrade path to the newest version.
The version of Movie Studio they are offering is the basic version. And while it offers OFX support (for NBFX, etc), it just doesn't work well in it's implementation. It does have templates and such for quick video editing.
What buying and installing MS does is open the door to upgrade to VPX and future MS. BUT.... upgrading will overwrite your current version, something that Vegas does not do.

Yes. That HB offered in text Merc 5 but showed an image of Merc 4 - it's just such sloppy marketing from HB - as well as being a misleading marketing offer from a consumer pov. IMO, HB have not got the foggiest notion about the packages that they sell.

I think they just copy/paste what the companies send them from their websites. They have so many packages and items. But the bundles should be "inspected" and proofed before publishing.
