platinum 17 wont update.

I have been trying to get this update to load for months. Every time I try, it goes the being process then tells me it cant download until movie studio is closed; movie will already be closed. i have tried everything but nothing has worked. plus the software is consistently crashing and losing my work; even after i save it. please help or I'm going to have to use another software.

Unfortunately "have tried everything" doesn't actually tell us what you have tried. The usual recommendation is:

  1. Make sure VMS is shut down.
  2. Download the update either from your Magix account under "my Products", or using the appropriate link in this thread https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-movie-studio-17-update-2-builds-159-204--124910/
  3. Start VMS
