red event on timeline

Hi All,
I couldn't find an answer with the search function.
I imported a video file (Cineform.avi) into a new V7 project and it shows as all red frames on the timeline. The file was rendered from a V10 project; and yes, I know that projects from newer versions are not backwards compatible, but this is a rendered file. When I play back from V7 timeline, I sometimes see the actual video in preview window and on external monitor, but timeline still appears red.
What gives?
Thanks for any help.
Ken

Has no one else experienced this?

Many of us are not ignoring you. We just don't know what to say. I have seen green screens but don't remember red ones. I went from Vegas Pro 4 to Vegas Pro 8.

Do you experience this if you use another codec?

I have never experienced red frames before, but I did a quick Google search on the Internet (I encourage you to do the same on your own) and found the following possible solution by someone at http://www.designstudioschool.com/red-frame-solutions-t33279-15.html :

"I open a project which turns out to have red clips, so I open a new project, using the little icon under file (CTRL+SHIFT+N), when that opens I do nothing with it and under File I select the previous project which had the red clips and this time it opens with all clips solid. It's fast and never fails me."

Thanks Peter. That is certainly worth a try.

The original and full "red frame solutions" thread is here.
"designstudioschool.com" is of course one of the clones for this forum.
