Render and preview screen "mirrored and cropped"

calvin-s wrote on 2/26/2018, 12:55 AM

I'm using Sony Vegas 15.

This problem showed up while I was editing some clips. I don't know what i clicked or did but the preview screen and the rendered video showed up as "mirrored and cropped" The thing is, whenever i switch the preview quality to "Draft", the screen goes back to normal. If you can help me, I would really appreciated. ps. for those wondering what anime this is, its Kyoukai No Kanata.

I've seen this issue at least twice before but can't find the posts 😒. It might be related to the format of your source video (Shadowplay?), or your graphics card driver version, or Vegas build, or even .NET Framework. This info will help, until someone with better memory/bookmarks than me wakes up:

Any help from here?

For vkmast: Your link only directed me back to this page again. I dont know what you mean or maybe u made a mistake.

For Cornica: I'm sorry. I dont really know what proxy is. I looked into the preview setting by changing the quality, resizing the resolution, turned on and off the split screen view, and turned off stereotypical 3D mode.

This problem showed up only recently when I started editing this video. My last project did not have this problem when I previewed the video/rendered it.

When i import other videos/music into the project, they become cropped too so I believe that its not the video itself but the settings for Sony vegas.

Thinking back, i did mess around with the stereotypical 3d mode when i was trying to make a glitch effect. After doing it, i think that's when the problem occurred. I happened to save my project before realizing the problem so i cant go back. I don't know anything else i might have done that caused this problem.

Ok! I have figured out how to fix my problem. What i did was i muted my 2 other video tracks that included: Stereroscopic 3d adjust video fx and the layer with my mask. I have no idea how that fixed my problem but ill mess around with it until i can find a way to have them enabled without the screen cropped. For other people who have the same problem as me, try muting (disabling) the other video tracks and see which one causes the problem.

Another update. I fixed it by moving whatever i had in the two video tracks (look at my previous comment if u don't know what im talking about) into a another new video tract. I assume the video tract itself had the stereoscopic 3d effect (i dont know if u can apply effects to a tract. Comment if u know the answer) and that caused the screens to shift over.

@calvin-s sorry, you're right about the link I gave. I've corrected it now.
