@joo-g:

When I add s_shake to sony vegas

1) There is not such a version of VegasPro. It’s now owned by MAGIX.

2) What is this FX? That looks like a BORIS FX. If so, have you Registered the Fx Package with BORIS?

3) You really need to respond to @RogerS requests otherwise we can’t assist you further.

@joo-g please note also this.

Ok,

I will reply soon

Ed-Williams wrote on 3/3/2021, 9:02 AM

I have the same issue, constantly not responding, I last used maybe a year ago without any problems, I'm using the same PC with no hardware changes other than an additional hard drive.

Referencing https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/important-information-required-to-help-you--110457/

1. I was using Version 16 so I upgraded to 17 hoping this would fix the issue but it hasn't, I'm on 17 Build 204

2. Windows 10 64 bit version 10.00.18363

3. Footage taken using Snagit version 2020.1.2 Build 4965 - saved as mp4

4. Delivery to hard disk as mp4

5. I get "Not responding" https://www.screencast.com/t/QUDqCbtNe5

I get this frequently ie at least every hour, there is no trigger I've identified, I might be adding text, simply playing or editing. I have tried turning off GPU acceleration. I have tried using a local hard drive and a network drive. The video's I am editing are small, between 30 and 90 seconds using 1 video track and 4 audio tracks and occaisionally a title track. I am using default settings other than GPU acceleration off (it was on to start with, I turned off after seeing a suggestion in a post) and have no plugins. When I was using V16 it was similar ie default settings etc.

@Ed-Williams looking at that high frame rate swing, I would think there would be issues. None of the frame rates are what one could consider "standard". Have you tried using Handbrake to convert the videos to constant frame rate?

Frame rate mode: Variable

Frame rate: 11.049 FPS

Minimum frame rate: 3.381 FPS

Maximum frame rate: 340.909 FPS

Original frame rate: 15.000 FPS

No, thanks for the pointer, I'll look at the other source videos to see if they are the same, we also have another screen capture tool (Flashback) so I'll try that. Will also try saving in a less compressed format like AVI and see if that helps and if not will install Handbrake and convert. Many thanks for the tip, fingers crossed...

Reyfox wrote on 3/3/2021, 1:56 PM

Handbrake does batch processing to, if it works out for you.

I would first convert a short video to see if it plays back in sync.

I couldn't get anything better from snag it and saw Movie Studio has a screen capture tool, tried that and must have spent a couple of hours editing and all running perfectly, so, tentatively, looking good, many thanks for your help...

vkmast wrote on 3/4/2021, 10:52 AM

Just to clarify, VEGAS Capture (Screen Capturing) is a feature in VEGAS Movie Studio 17 Platinum.

@vkmast doesn't VP17/18 also have screen capture?

@Ed-Williams which leads me to ask.... are you using Vegas Pro or Vegas Movie Studio, and which version.
