Serial key issue (have to continue putting it in)

whatsthisaboutfellas wrote on 5/22/2021, 8:48 PM

So i've been using Vegas Pro 17 for a bit now then one day it said that I didn't have one. I did but it didn't recognize it. Read up on things, said to deactivate it and uninstall then reinstall and reactivate. So I did and it worked. But then a whole new issue came about. Now I have to keep putting in my key every time I load Vegas up. Magix says that it's activated on my computer so I have no clue. Constantly putting it in works but it's a real pain and isn't supposed to happen. So what can I do and will the constant input of the key be an issue? Also any good tips for uninstalling? (Also I can't just deactivate again. You can only do it once a month.)

My only idea is to wait it out, deal with the annoyance until I can reactivate. It's just annoying.

This should work, but as it doesn't seem to work for you, you may need to contact Support. A user-created tutorial here.

And please note that the other option to deactivate is this: "From the VEGAS Pro Help menu choose Deactivate the Software on this PC. This option can be used as often as you wish. An internet connection is required." (This FAQ item 9.) But as you say, for now you may need to wait.

Thanks for the follow ups! As for set's technique, it doesn't work because Vegas doesn't load till I put the key in. I tried but because it's technically the installer, I can't do anything.

I think I',m going to wait it out a bit and then see what I can do. I think I might have to do a full uninstall like I saw some threads say. I'll try to contact support as well.
