Check for an *Update.exe in your C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Movie Studio Platinum\17.0 (or \Movie Studio\ depending on your version). If you don't find that, see the link e.g. here https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-movie-studio-17-update-2-builds-159-204--124910/

loaded the build 204 and now .mov files won't work or populate. I made the change in options to deprecated features and restarted but still does not work. Tried it twice

@Michael-Corbus Yes, there appears to be a problem as I've just encountered it. Files that need "qt7plug.dll" aren't working. They work okay in VMS Plat 16. Some more recently taken with an iPhone mov files are okay with VMS17 Build 204 as they use a different plug-in namely "so4compoundplug.dll".

Indeed. I don't have many of those files but just to test I used the advice in section 5 here to convert one such file for VMS17 P b 204.

Oof, that's a lot of work to just use files - hope they come out with a solve soon. Been over a month now. Pretty critical break/fix if you ask me. .mov files are very common when it comes to stock VFX mattes, and I am unable to utilize them until it gets fixed. Considering I have hundreds of files - going through a conversion process.. seems a bit insane. Do we know if this is getting worked on, because if not - I need to find a software that can support all major file types (and yes.. .mov is one of them). I literally just upgraded to Studio 17 Plat too, unfortuante.

Any support posts anyone can direct me to that are following this bug/break?
