Sony Preset Manager?

Nxno wrote on 3/25/2020, 4:01 PM

So I got Sony Vegas yesterday, really liking the format of the software very simple to use. I want to install external plugins but am unable to do so. I have Sapphire plugins and would like to know if I can download external plugins with it? There are a bunch of sketch websites to download Sony Preset Manager and am worried that I'll infect my computer. Thank you.

Also note that Vegas hasn't been a Sony product for 6 years. If you're really running a 6 year old version of the program, support is probably not available.

I cannot understand how so many new users of Vegas Pro lodging problems on this forum ascribe VP ownership to Sony whereas it has been owned by MAGIX for many years as highlighted by Steve Grisetti. I wonder if it's being downloaded from a pirate website which still calls the product Sony Vegas Pro. Surely genuine buyers would notice that that they entered a MAGIX website to buy VP14-17 and that their receipt was from MAGIX not Sony.

I also often wonder why this is - but that could be an explanation.

@Steve Grisetti Steve, VEGAS has been owned by MAGIX as of mid-2016, not quite 6 years yet.

You're right of course, vk. I guess I was timing from Sony's last release, version 13, in 2014.

The preset manager should not be required to install plugins. It is for installing presets for those plugins. I had to download it to get some transitions that used BCC, for instance, but not to install BCC.

The Internet Archive Wayback Machine's archive of Sony's download is here:

There's a link to this near the bottom of the "Where can I download..." post.
