I have opened a file from the vegas time line and opened it in sound forge. when I go to save my work it will not save says no template specified. How do I correct this>

There are two options:
Open a copy in the audio editor and open the original in the audio editor.

When a copy is opened in the audio editor, a "take" is created.
When the original is opened in the audio editor, the original is simply overwritten.

Read in the help how exactly it works:
