Technical Support

GrizzlyIke wrote on 2/20/2015, 2:33 PM
I posted technical supoort questions re Vegas 13.0 through the Vegas "Help" menu. One was posted on Jan 29 and another on Feb 18. In each case I received a speedy reply acknowledging receipt of my questions. However, I have never received any answers. Has anyone had a similar experience? What am I doing wrong?

While I'm here does anybody know where I can get useful information on editing Sony's "Credit Roll"?

Tech support often takes months to respond.

Search this forum for answers on the credit roll operation.

My experience with SCS support is very bad. I asked them a question on 12/19/2013 and received very general answer on 04/17/2014.
It's better to try their chat.

Live Chat: "Chat with customer service for your general support, sales, and registration questions."
I'm not sure that you get much Technical Support there, either.

Did you check the help file/manual for info on the credit roll? I never found it hard to use.

@vkmast

Live Chat: "Chat with customer service for your general support, sales, and registration questions."
sounds as theoretically as
Technical support: "Can't find your answer online? Then send us your technical support question (English language only) and we will respond as soon as possible."
ASAP = 4 months :/

The only way to get any information from a living person from SCS in a reasonable time is the Chat. And I did managed to force SCS to give me better support via Chat than the Tech Support. That is my experience.

What's your specific problem with credit roll? It should be pretty straight-forward to use, although a bit clunky if you're trying for special layouts.

I have two problems. I cannot edit a line without having to type the whole line over again. Is there some way to use normal editing procedures to correct a mistake? I find it easier to write everything in say, Word then copying the whole thing over. .My second problem/question is can you stop the roll when the last line becomes visible? I made a video a few years back, probable in Vegas 10 or before, which started out with a credit roll decribing what the video was about (retriever hunt test) and the roll stopped at the end. Is there another media generator I should be using?
Thanks for you help.

I really like Vegas for all things editing, but the Credits Roll is really, really bad. It's simple, almost too simple, but the text renders really crappy.

I use Videotagger (http://videotagger-free-edition.findmysoft.com/). It also has its bugs, but makes a much cleaner credit roll. And it's free.

Just be careful when installing videotagger ... they try and install half a dozen pieces of software leading up to the actual install.
