"Transfer by hand":

mgsotr wrote on 3/9/2017, 12:23 PM

Cornico in a previous post mentioned this transfer of the completed video project from MS to DVD-A. Can anyone help me with this? I have the inkling that I'll have to locate the video and the audio portion separately and somehow link them to DVD-A once it's opened. Is that basically what I am up against? It seems formidable, but once I learn how, it should be ez-pz, correct?

I am using a newly purchased copy of MS 14.0 and the DVD-A which came w/ it for $79.99. I have a Win 10 i7 16GB RAM computer.

Thanks so much for any help you may provide!

As long as render disc with menu not works as desired you can import the files by hand into DVDA.
Workarond:

1. Render in VMS to a compatible Videostream.(Mainconcept Mpeg2 SD or HD and/or MC or Sony AVC ).

2. Render in VMS to a compatible Audiostream.

3 Give both the same name and the same location on your harddisc. Both compatible with the projectsettings in DVDA. Importing one of the files in DVDA takes the other one with it. If complete compatible no rerendering is needed in DVDA.

To practise this workarond I made a short videotutorial how to do this for a PAL widestream DVD. If you live in a NTSC country choose comparable templates for NTSC.

Hello Cornico,  Yes, that brief vid was most helpful and I thank you for taking the time to create it.

After watching, I have a question.  At 1:25 when you push the "this way, that way" arrow button to get the two files to load into DVDA, how does it know which two files to load into the program?  For example, I have six separate videos I'd like to include on one DVD.  How will I signal DVDA to load those six videos?  Should I give them all the same name...but then won't the OS refuse to do that b/c that would cause them to rewrite over the file?

I'm gonna go now and attempt to get one video to load into DVDA after the method in your vid.

OK, it worked for me!  As least for a single video.  The markers I placed in the video did not accompany the video.  Is there yet another file I'll have to render in addition to the video, and audio or perhaps it's a step I unwittingly omitted.  It's been two years since I created a DVD w/ menus and I'm rusty.  I'll go back to the Grisetti guide and brush up.  So happy to have gotten this far, again- thanks!

The markers I placed in the video did not accompany the video.

They will if you checked that option in the Advanced render options

Then they appear in the chapterfile in DVDA. If not use the signed button

Thanks Cornico, I have been enlightened on several issues Ive been trying to figure out.

Hello Cornico,

I am back to attempting to make a DVD. I am using MS 14.0 Platinum. In your video at 1:20, the button to make a DVD is engaged. I don't have such a button on my toolbar, but I do have DVD Architect installed. I have heard that some versions of DVD Architect don't work properly. Is that why I lack the button on my toolbar? Is it possible to make the button show up on my tool bar, if so how?

I should have asked, how do I get that button to show up on my taskbar? (I have no way of accessing DVD Architect other than launching it from my desktop icon. And I have been unsuccessful in getting the rendered MS 14.0 Platinum project loaded in DVD Architect.)

Pin an app to the taskbar.

Render settings for a DVD. (...The recommended settings for a DVD are rendered in two parts, the video stream and the audio stream. Make sure to render both files to the same folder with the same name. -When importing the video stream into DVD Architect, the audio stream will import automatically. --)

Yes, the short vid posted by Cornico (found several comments previously, see 3/10/17) taught me that. I have figured how to get my project in DVD Architect, but my I asked my question at 2:52 pm today because I was hoping to save a few steps in the process. (I have been struggling off and on over the past few months in an attempt to author a DVD. I use to have NO PROBLEM, but that was before MS became decoupled w/ DVD Architect.) My workflow is incorrect, and I'm thus far unable to diagnosis what I'm doing wrong.)

All Cornico's posts in this thread show you how.

vkmast:

I saw the link you posted about pinning an app to the taskbar. That's what I had asked, but not what I meant. I imagined that Cornico was accessing that DVD button from within the MS program. I was wrong, and it's just another dead end I've been going down.

I will continue to attempt to create a DVD and hope you will continue to provide guidance either here or on muvipix. I am very greatful!

From my Render settings link above:

"To add the clips that you have rendered from Vegas or Movie Studio, in DVD Architect choose Insert > Media, and navigate to the rendered clips on your system. This will add your media clip to your DVD Architect project."
