Unable to resize VP12 Window to see buttons, etc

TheSearcher wrote on 11/24/2014, 3:46 PM
Hello,

Pretty weird and I need your help.

When I am trying to RENDER a video in Vegas Pro 12, and I open the CUSTOMIZE TEMPLATE = "Custom Settings window," the window is so long that I can not see/reach whatever buttons there must be at the bottom of it.

And, the windows are incredibly enough "un-adjustable." You can not change the size of the window so I am stuck.

Surely there must be a simple solution for this, right?

Hi TIA,

I'm not sure I understand your issue. I see that you have in previous posts sought help re rendering, so I'm assuming that you understand the simplest approach of "File >render as", which then brings up the rendering popup window with the subheadings "output file, output format, render options, metadata options". At the top of this window (under Output format") you do have a checkbox that is titled: "match project settings". You can check that and that will then limit the subsequent display of rendering format options / size to match the project settings that you have already set up in Vegas 12 for that particular video project. I'm not sure if you are / are not checking that check box.

You can adjust the size of this pop up window by dragging on the bottom RH corner while holding LH mouse button.

Once you have selected a rendering format (by selecting the format (e.g MainConcept AVC /AAC (*.mp4, *avc) by clicking on the little black triangle next to this title, you should be presented with a listing of various options available in this rendering format. You can then select one of these from the list (scrolling down by holding mouse button down and dragging scroll button on RHS of popup window.) You can then modify this selected rendering format by clicking the button labelled "customise template" and adjust parameters (such as width, height, framerate, aspect ratio), although in most cases you will probably leave most options as is, with perhaps the most commonly made change relates to whether you are rendering interlaced footage or progressive.

I'm not sure whether any of that helps and I'm not understanding your reference to "Customise template = "Custom setting window".

Can you please further explain your need and I can maybe put up some pics to help.

Duncan

Uploading a screengrab of what you see on your monitor or laptop screen would be most helpful. The sticky note at the top of teh Vegas Forum list provides details on how to do that. I think that will get you help quickly.

Hi,

I can't find that "The sticky note at the top of teh Vegas Forum" you are talking about it. I remember I had the same trouble finding it the last time. Hope I can find it so I can put some pics up.

From your System Specs:

"Video Card: Generic PnP Monitor @ 1360x768 Intel(R) HD Graphic"

If you're on this machine with this monitor resolution, this could be challenging.

Searcher,
you probably found it by now, but see the 3. Sticky: "New Markup for Forum Posts" just above the most recent thread topics.

Old Spoke,

You were right, it was the resolution. Somehow I "made my text larger" (using the link for that purpose and it was 125% (rather than 100%). Some how that changes the "resolution" and I could not see the complete window in VP12.

I am now able to see the whole thing

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED.

To the MODs: Just one comment: Why is it so difficult to find the way to attach a PIC to a post? something that should be so easy? At this point, I still have not found the way to do it... and I remember I had the same problem the firs time.

Duncan,

:-) I saw that "sticky" but English failed me this time (lol). I could not figure out what "markup" was all about. I was looking for something like "Attaching Pictures or links to your post"

Thanks anyway.

Thx.
