Upgrade advice from platinum 10 please!

Hi,

I bought Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10 many years ago to make time-lapse and slideshows from stills.

I am now venturing into video, using a Canon 5D III, and am finding the program crashes constantly.

It may be my computer (Windows 10) but I was wondering if it would make a significant difference if I upgraded the software.

I have read quite a few articles that suggest v11 or v12 as opposed to the most recent release, but am struggling to find a comparison between 10,11,12,13 and 14.

Would very much appreciate some guidance.

Thank you

Amanda

Many of the SVMSP 10 crashes may be due to the version being 32-bit only. Read e.g. this thread. (SCS KB or "custcenter" items may be found through Grandmaster Nick's zip file. See here, point 6. Read this as well.

Sony/SCS versions 12 and 13 were 32-bit and 64-bit. MAGIX branded versions 13 and 14 are 64-bit only. You cannot buy SCS versions directly from SCS any more (or from MAGIX either).

To me, the best reviews of SCS versions 12 and 13 are to be found on www.moviestudiozen.com. See here. It has links to version 13 reviews as well. As for MAGIX Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 14, I'd wait to see if the promised patch/update build (latest ETA May 2017) fixes the current issues.
